Frequently Asked Questions About Aesthetic Medicine
Who will benefit from Viora Reaction Treatments?
Viora treatments are generally recommended for patients from 30 to 65 with mild to moderate skin laxity (due to age, weight loss or pregnancy), cellulite, facial lines and wrinkles and a BMI of 30 or less. The treatment is safe for most patients. Exceptions include pregnant women, people with pacemakers and implanted electrical devices, or patients with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or other auto-immune diseases. We will have you complete a medical history questionnaire that will address the physical conditions that may preclude treatment. If you have any concerns about your health and Viora treatments, discuss it with your primary care physician. Viora Reaction is safe for all skin types and skin colors.
What does a Viora Reaction Treatment feel like?
Your practitioner uses a hand piece attached to the Viora Reaction device to treat skin with a blend of radio frequencies and vacuum therapy. The hand piece tip emits a cool sensation upon contact, so there are no worries about excess heat from the device harming your skin. The heat penetrates your dermis and subcutaneous, strengthening collagen and tissue fibers. The heat revitalizes collagen, causing thin, lax or dimple-laden skin to become tighter and more youthful-looking. The amount of heat can be adjusted to fit your comfort level. If you are having a body contouring procedure (on the buttocks or thighs, for example), vacuum therapy is applied to the treatment area, according to your comfort level.
What parts of the body can be treated?
All body areas with sagging skin, including the abdomen and arms, benefit from Viora Reaction ReLift treatments. Viora’s precise radio frequency settings give you tighter, firmer facial skin around the eyes, cheeks, forehead, decollete, neck and jowls. Eliminate crepey neck and flabby jowls for a vibrant, youthful appearance. Skin thickness and the amount of loose skin determine the RF setting we’ll use and the number of maintenance treatments needed. Thin skin around the eyes requires a higher frequency. We use a lower or multi-channel frequency to treat body areas with thicker skin, such as the thighs, abdomen and buttocks. The vacuum therapy setting is used to make the abdomen and other large body areas firmer.
How long do the treatments take and how quickly will I see results?
Viora treatments take between 15 and 25 minutes. If you have extremely loose skin on your abdomen or other large area, it may take up to 45 minutes. Your skin will look and feel tighter after one outpatient treatment in our office. Most patients require 6-8 treatments on average to obtain desired results and firmness.
What are the side effects?
Common side effects of Viora skin tightening treatments include redness, bruising and swelling. Reddening disappears a few hours after your appointment. Swelling usually subsides within 24 hours, but may last up to five days for some patients. Bruising occurs in patients who are sensitive to the vacuuming portion of the treatment, and may take a few days to fade. We’ll discuss any concerns you have during your Viora consultation.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime. Patients can return to their daily routine immediately after the session. Your skin may appear flushed for a few hours. Make-up can be worn after treatment.
